Multimedia Research and Presentation Project

Students will apply the research process to gather, sort, and organize information into cohesive projects, including written, visual, and presentation components.

Course Description: This study of literature introduces students to the study of short stories, nonfiction, poetry, and the novel. Students will develop writing skills through persuasive and creative writing. TAKS objectives are included in all units of study.

US History section 1 takes the student on a journey through the trials and tribulations of early America.  On this journey, the student will gain an understanding of how colonization of  North America affected the Native Americans, why colonists yearned for a government that responded to their needs, how slavery defined a growing, newly formed nation, and why the concepts of growth, conflict, and leadership are necessary components of a fledgling country.

In this course students will develop and implement analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as identify the universal threads that exist in World History.

This is a second- year course is for intermediate students.  In this course the students will be learn to use communication, writing and reading in the foreign langauge.

This course develops the four language skilles. It is a thematic study of modern Hispanic culture, incorporating grammar, and composition skills and vocabulary expansion.

This course will add further areas of intrest by studying the concept of culture through comparations of the student's own culture and the cultures of the Spanish speaking countries.

Spanish 2 will continue with what you have learned in Spanish 1.  We will learn new vocabulary, give oral presentations, sing songs, play games and learn to talk more about ourselves and our daily activities.

Spanish 3 Pre-AP is a continuation of learning the Spanish language, with an emphasis on communication and learning about the Spanish-speaking world.  The 4th six weeks will emphasize learning about the European Union, and on creating a South American Union in class.

This course will introduce students to the world of Criminal Justice and its inner workings.

Principles Of Engineering

This course exposes students to different engineering and high-technology fields while students understand and develop math, science, and technology concepts based on engineering fundamentals.

Computer Applications

This course takes students from the basics of Microsoft Office to other computer applications such as CAD, basic computer programing, and web-page design.

The main focus of this second semester is Microsoft Access Database.  We will also cover PowerPoint, and Web Page basics.
